Hello and welcome. Finding a therapist can be a daunting task, but trust that you will know when you have found the right fit. Let me tell you a little about myself, and you can decide if you would like to schedule a free 15-minute consultation with me. My name is Sienna, and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. Inspired in part by my experience having Tourettes Syndrome, my mental health journey, my relationship struggles, and mentors who taught me to think outside the box, I have worked in the mental health profession for 5 years with teens, adults, couples, families and groups in settings ranging from a residential substance abuse treatment center to a youth health services clinic to even a climbing gym. I help my clients rediscover a mind-body connection through movement, and I cultivate a safe space for clients to process challenging experiences and past hurts using a relationship-oriented approach. I believe in the power of vulnerability, so I share personal experiences-when relevant-so that my clients feel a sense of solidarity.
I believe in the power of healing through authentic connection with trusted community. However, rather than allowing ourselves to share vulnerably with people in our lives, we silence ourselves due to the fear of being judged. We close ourselves off to connection and in doing so silence our authentic truth. While this tendency has protected us from unsafe people, we can get stuck in this game of pretending to be okay when we truly need support. This can lead to disconnection within ourselves and in our interpersonal relationships. I help people learn how to trust their intuition and use their vulnerability as a tool for connection.
I have received training in the Gottman Method of couples counseling, ecotherapy, consensual non-monogamy, and somatic therapy. I bring my passion for exercise and the outdoors into my sessions, often walking with clients in natural settings, and I have recently been exploring merging climbing with mental health treatment, offering groups for teenagers for the past year and a half at a local climbing gym.
I love working with romantic partners, folks in non-monogamous relationships, adolescents struggling to connect to the outside world, and adults who appreciate the benefits of incorporating mindful movement into their daily lives.
My current offerings include a blend of what I have learned professionally with my experiences as a millennial in search of authentic connection with myself and others, as an avid climber and movement lover, and as a person navigating the beautiful challenges of life.
